MY1016Z Geared United 250W, 24V DC Brushed Motor, 400 RPM
This is what you are buying when you buy the 350w version of this motor on eBay or Aliexpress or Amazon. This is a 250W motor ONLY. Its become common to put 350W labels on the 250W motor because sellers are all competing on price. Since they can't go lower than us, they just change the labels. You likely won't notice which is how they get away with it.
This popular reduction motor is simply the most commonly used motor for Scooters, Bikes and quad's available on the market!
It is normally found in the better quality quads and scooters on the market and is classed as a mid range combination. The low range (usually in the cheap kiddie carts) unit is generally a Johnson or Mabuchi 550 motor hooked together to a plastic toy gearbox (pretty poor quality, but a great cost saving idea for the manufacturer!)
Most people use this 250W motor as a starting block for building their own carts. It's suitable for kids up to about 5-7 years old (after that they may be getting a little heavy, and any younger and you wont be able to catch the kids because weight is everything)
Its designed as a kinf of pre-gearing. Depending on the size of your wheels, the chain sprocket is made to go to a bigger sprocket (3:1) you can go to a bigger sprocket from the smaller one on the gearbox to get more torque, but be VERY careful if you go to smaller sprockets for speed because it means you WILL be overdriving the motor.
It's most definately the best choice for younger kids and concerned parents who don't want the kids flying down the street at high speeds!
These use a common mounting block which makes replacement of a worn or broken motor a painless swap over.
They are quite powerful for their small size and extremely reliable. We've sold these for so many different applications that they were never designed for, but the robustness of the build makes them just go and go and go etc!
You wont find these in the cheap kiddie carts, but you will on the higher quality models!
If this is going to be used as a childs cart, please make sure the child is capable of driving it!
