12-48V DC Speed Controller (Bi-Directional) 60A Maximum, 40A Continuous

Introducing our enhanced 12-48V DC Speed Controller (Bi-Directional), now equipped with even more robust features to meet your needs! This reliable and easy-to-use controller allows you to control the speed and direction of your DC motor effortlessly.

Notably, we have upgraded the unit with a much more powerful diode, making it much more capable of handling inductive loads such as DC motors

Please note that although this controller can handle substantial current, if you plan to use it with a DC motor, we strongly advise utilizing the included SNUBBER KIT! The snubber kit, along with the enhanced diode protection, safeguards the controller from voltage spikes that may occur due to motor-induced back EMF. This is particularly important when operating with motors in the 350-550W range, as they can push a significant amount of power back into the controller.

The functionality remains wonderfully simple, with a 3-position rocker switch providing forward, reverse, and a neutral option. The on/off function is conveniently integrated into the 100K potentiometer – a simple turn all the way down until you hear a satisfying click, and the unit powers off.

The unit also features soft-start, ensuring a smooth start-up when you use the potentiometer from an OFF position. Additionally, the digital display indicates the speed setting between 001-100, giving you real-time feedback on the motor's rotation speed. A value of 50 on the LED readout indicates the controller is set to 50% of the motor's maximum rated speed.

Setting up the controller is as easy as connecting four wires. Remember to ensure the correct battery positive/negative positioning when connecting it to power. As for the load positive/negative, you have the flexibility to attach them to either of the motor terminals.

The 60A maximum and 40A continuous current ratings provide ample power for a wide range of applications. However, it's essential to avoid running the unit at its maximum for extended periods to ensure its longevity. We recommend using the controller with motors up to around 500-550W, taking into consideration the locked rotor current during motor startup.

With our upgraded diode protection and enhanced design, you can confidently connect inductive loads like DC motors without worries about voltage spikes damaging the controller. Feel free to utilize this controller with motors, Tesla coils, or other inductive loads, as it can now handle them with ease.

For non-inductive loads, such as resistive loads, the controller operates smoothly without the need for a snubber kit. You can run these loads at higher currents, thanks to their linear characteristics.

Experience the power and efficiency of our upgraded bi-directional controller, now fully equipped to handle inductive loads, making it an ideal choice for your DC motor applications and beyond!
