HHO? What's the big deal ?

Oxyhydrogen, Browns gas, or HHO as it is now more commonly known, is the action of splitting water down into its basic components (Hydrogen and Oxygen) and then burning the Hydrogen to power other devices, or increase mileage and burn efficiency for vehicles.

Yull Brown, a professor working from Sydney, Australia found that by adding power to water with a certain amount of oxygen, that HHO gas was formed which was a highly flammable but not combustible gas. After spending a long time developing his system, he went around the world promoting his new 'Free' gas generation device, and looking for investors to fund his ongoing expenses and research towards Hydrogen gas uses.  He was a heavy promoter of his system bringing many investors into the prospect of free energy with the gas he labelled as "Brown's Gas".  

While he mentioned that it could be used for Automotive purposes, his idea was to make a safe welder, removing the need for the dangerous and potentially explosive tanks that are required to be carted around with the welding system.

The problem however, was that the process of turning water into gas requires more energy than the gas produced could provide.

Over the past few of years as the energy crisis looms and Electricity and Gas prices have become even more expensive, home inventers, backyard mechanics and pioneers of the industry have jumped on the wagon and have begun creating ever more complex ways of producing high performing HHO generators, which are becoming used in more and more fields as people search for alternatives to the high cost of energy. 

These days, people utilise Browns gas in many fields, ranging from heaters and cooking appliances, to automobiles. While the promises of Browns Gas never really lived up to the hype he created, his legacy will live on, in that each day, more and more people become interested in creating their own energy producing endeavours.

People using the HHO gas for vehicles are probably the most thankful to Yull Brown, as by burning HHO gas alongside regular fuel, it is claimed to give a more consistent burn, which maximises the efficiency and mileage for most Petrol and Diesel driven automobiles.
